Cotton University
Cotton University, earlier referred to as Cotton College, is a prominent university in Assam that was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton. This university is approved by UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC. Cotton university provides graduate courses such as B.Sc., B.A., BCA, posgraduate courses M.A., M.Sc., MCA, M.Lib, I.Sc., LL.M.and Ph.D courses in various streams. All courses will be in full time mode. Cotton University admissions to UG programmes will be based on the candidate's performance in the NTA's CUET-UG. Cotton University Guwahati admits postgraduate students based on the results of the Cotton Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE) held by the university. The Institute's courses cost between INR 3,600 to 132,600 and are open to a total of 2092 candidates. Candidate must meet the cutoff to get admitted in UG admissions through CUET.
HISTORY ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Originally
associated with Calcutta University, it became a part of Gawahati University in
1948. Cotton College State University was established in 2011, and it later
merged with Cotton College under the Cotton University Act of 2017. This
legislative action led in the formation of Cotton University in 2017, confirming
its position as a prominent educational institution in the region with a long
history.
