Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication is a UGC-recognized institute established in 1990. It is located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and was named after Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi, a prominent editor, poet, literateur, and freedom fighter during his time. The university has 2 campuses in Bhopal and 3 more in Datia, Khandwa, and Rewa. It is the first academic center of excellence in the entire Asian subcontinent.
It is also known as University and provides UG, PG, and skill-oriented diploma programs in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, Electronic Media, New Media, Cinema Studies, Computer Applications, Media Business Management, Library and Information Sciences, and Communication Research. Facilities at University
Hostel: University have separate hostels for both boys and girls located on either side of the university. The hostel rooms are very spacious and are well-equipped with the necessities like bed, table, chair, cupboard, etc. A secure, disciplined, ragging free environment is available in both the hostels including compulsory mess facility inside hostels.
Library: The library is equipped with e-books, online journals, magazines, periodicals and newspapers. 40 national and regional newspapers are regularly subscribed to and are kept in the library archive for media and communication studies for students. Apart from this, 100 subject-speci?c magazines as well as those useful for competitive exams are also made available. The library has a huge collection of research journals on Media and Communication, IT and Computers. It also has the membership of more than 60 research journals and a digital library facility is also available.
Medical: Dhanwantari Chikitsalaya is a health center that provides first aid and various treatment services, as well as specialist dentists who are ready for consultation at the specified time and length. With 8 beds, the health facility provides consultation and treatment (OPD and IPD) in allopathic, ayurvedic, and homeopathic medicine. This deal offers the University a reduction of about 60%- 70% on medical costs for personnel and medical students.
Sports: The college offers a sports club, and students are welcome to join. They even have the opportunity to represent the university at the inter-college and even higher levels.
