The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) in Punjab was established by the Punjab State Legislature in 2006. The University provides an integrated B.A.-L.L.B. Hons. (Bachelor of Arts-Bachelor of Legislative Law) degree, LLM (Master of Law) program, and Ph.D. in various specializations.
It is a public university that is accredited by the UGC and the Bar Council of India. It is also NAAC-accredited (Grade A). Admissions are strictly based on the percentage obtained by the candidate in the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test). Reservations are available for SC/ST, Foreign Nationals, Kashmiri Migrant Wards, Punjabi Residents of Punjab, and Specially Abled Persons. The Institute is ranked 20th by IIRF 2024.

Facilities at University:
Hostels: There are 8 hostels at the Institute, 4 for boys and 4 for females. To provide a clean, drinkable water supply at all times, every hostel has an aqua guard with a water cooler. Housekeeping services are available at all times to maintain proper sanitation and hygiene facilities. Additionally, the hostels have WiFi connection that is available all time.
Computer Labs: 2 fully AC computer labs with 80 machines with the newest configurations and high-speed internet access have been created by the university.
Dining Hall: The hostels feature completely AC dining rooms with separate spaces for boys and girls, each of which can accommodate up to 330 students.
GYM: The gym features weight training equipment in addition to cardio equipment like spin bikes, cross trainers, and treadmills. Professionally trained coaches and personal trainers are available to help members at the gym with their exercise regimens, with distinct sessions for boys and girls.
