Barkatullah University, Bhopal

Barkatullah University, originally known as Bhopal University, was renamed Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya in 1988 to honor the legendary independence warrior Professor Barkatullah, a Bhopal native. The NAAC accredited the university with a "B" grade. The university's affiliated colleges and teaching departments provide courses in the arts, social sciences, sciences, life sciences, engineering, law, commerce, education, physical education, technology, home science, and management. The institution has 8 districts under its jurisdiction. The University also offers its many programs through distance learning.

It provides UG, graduate, and doctoral programs in many fields like as arts, science, and commerce. Admission to UG and graduate programs is based on qualifying exam results or scores from national-level entrance exams such as CUET UG, JEE Main, CUET PG, CMAT, CAT, MPMET, GATE, and so on. Ph.D. admissions are based on the university's Ph.D. entrance exam or a valid score in UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET/JRF, or GATE, followed by an interview at the university.

The University campus is approximately 400 acres and is located about 3 kilometers from Habib Ganj Railway Station on the Hoshangabad Highway. The University's affiliated Colleges and University Teaching Departments provide courses in the faculties of Arts, Social Science, Science, Life Science, Engineering, Law, Commerce, Education, Physical Education, Technology, Home Science, and Management. The university's territorial authority covers 8 districts: Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Harda, Betul, and Rajgarh. The campus of University offers facilities such as-

• National Service Scheme (NSS) –  The National Service Scheme (NSS) is sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. NSS volunteers participate in initiatives such as tree planting, literacy campaigns, health care, immunization, and the maintenance of NSS book banks, among others.
• Health center – University health care offers health examinations and medications to its students.
• Library – University contains a library with almost 75,000 books, 3000 research publications, 15 daily newspapers, 12 weeklies, and many more resources.

Meri Cum Mean Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students who scored at least 90% in PCM or 80% in Arts or Commerce in 12th-grade exams from the appropriate boards (CBSE, ISC, State Boards).
