Manipur University, Imphal

Manipur University is a central university that was established in 1980 in Imphal, the state capital. Central University, which is recognized by the UGC, received "A" grade from the NAAC. 2 medical institutions are among the 119 affiliated colleges of University. Additionally, the Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) is constituent college of the School of Engineering. The campus occupies 287.5 acres and is protected amid Imphal's picturesque setting.

There are 6000 students registered in 44 departments and 8 centers of study at University. Admission to many UG, graduate, and doctoral programs is available at University. MUET and CUET scores are used for the selection. To be considered for admission, candidates who did not participate in the University entrance exam must take the CUET exam.

The university offers over 50 specializations for UG, graduate, and doctoral degrees. In addition to 46 departments and 4 distinct student study centers, the institution has developed nine schools of studies. The results of the University Entrance Test (MUET) are used to determine admission to all degrees.  Admissions at University

Admission to various UG and graduate programs is available at the university. The MUET or CUET exam results will be used to select the shortlisted applicants. University entrance exam results will account for half seats, while CUET results would account for the remaining half.

Merit lists are released by University once the applicant registers for admission and takes the entrance exam. The names and scores of the shortlisted candidates will be included in the merit list on the official website. After that, the shortlisted applicants need to visit the college campus to have their documents verified. Students can pay the course fees online to reserve their spot when the relevant authorities have confirmed the documentation.

Scanned copies of the documents listed below must be included with the application. Nevertheless, original copies of the documents must be turned in by the shortlisted applicants when the documents are verified.

Steps to Apply for University

  • Admissions applications must only be made online.
  • To register, applicants must first navigate to "Registration for Admission" and then click "New Registration."
  • Provide accurate personal information on the registration form.
  • Next, log in to University's admissions portal.
  • Complete all the fields, including your personal information, selected course, exam results, and academic background.
  •  Then, within the size restrictions, attach all required documents.
  • Only online payments are accepted for the INR 300 application fees for General, OBC, and EWS, and the INR 200 application fees for SC, ST, and PWD.
  • After completing the application, print out for your records.
  • Await the release of the shortlisted candidates' merit lists on the official website after completing the application. Following that, the shortlisted applicants pay the money and have their documents verified.

Results of University

Every year, University holds exams in the months of May through June and November through December. Exam results are available to registered students on the university's official website. Students can check their semester results by following the instructions below:

    Facilities at University

    DACE:  Students from Scheduled Castes can register in free UPSC preparatory courses offered by the DACE.  33% seats in each center are set aside for female candidates. All SC students registered in any program at University are eligible for this service.

    Health Care Center:   University offers a health care center for locals, employees, students, and visitors close to the campus. It has 2 ambulance drivers, a resident medical officer, a dentist for female employees, nurses, a male staff nurse, and a pharmacist-physiotherapist. Its purpose is to ensure that everyone on campus and in the surrounding area receives general medical, ENT, eye, and skin care.

    Hostels:   To house more than 1000 students, University maintains 8 girls and 6 boys dorms on campus. Students can play table tennis, badminton, and lift weights at the hostel mess at Do University.

    Research facilities:  Research facilities are available at  University for various fields, including the biotechnology and biological sciences departments. To impart useful knowledge to pupils, it also has a greenhouse and a museum with an animal house.

    Bank:    Since 1977, University has maintained a State Bank of India branch on campus. Students, employees, members, and other clients may profit from the ATM services and others. About 50,000 persons are customers of Manipur University and the State Bank of India.
