Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGNSOU) is a state open university located in the city of Bathinda, in the Indian state of Punjab. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Punjab. The university offers distance education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The university has more than 200 study centers located across the state of Punjab. The courses offered by the university include diploma, certificate and degree programs in various fields such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, Engineering, Technology, Management and Medicine.

Punjab State Open University (PSOU) was established in August 1997 under the Punjab State Open University Act, 1997 with the objective of providing access to higher education for all segments of society. The University is spread over four campuses at Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala and Mohali. The University offers more than 200 programmes at various levels viz. Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Doctoral etc. in diverse areas such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, Library & Information Science etc. PSOU is the first Open University in India to introduce a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Grading System in all its programs.

The university has over 400 study centers located across Punjab. It offers courses in a wide range of disciplines including arts, science, commerce, computer science, and engineering. The university also offers vocational courses.

Courses and Fee Details of University

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University provides a range of courses with corresponding fees for the first year. For the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program, the fee is Rs 8,700, while the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) program charges  Rs 11,700. The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) program has a fee of Rs9,700 for the first year. For postgraduate studies, the Master of Arts (MA) program has a fee of Rs 8,700, and the Master of Commerce (M.Com) program requires Rs 12,000 for the first year.
